The short version: my games do not collect your data, do not track you, and do not phone home. The only information I ever see is what Steam gives every developer about sales.

In plain terms: I am a one-person studio. I do not run analytics, ads, accounts, or trackers in my games. Nothing you do in a game is sent to me. The only data I receive is the sales and store information Steam provides to every developer, and that is handled by Steam, not by me.
This policy applies to all games and applications made by Forged By Ox ("I", "me", "my"), including Patchy, Cluck Up!, and Super Idle Poop Clicker, along with any future titles I release, and to this website at forgedbyox.com.
Nothing directly. My games and applications do not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting services, user accounts, fingerprinting, or any other form of tracking. They do not phone home. I do not build a profile on you, and there is no server of mine that your game talks to.
My games are distributed through Steam. When you buy, wishlist, review, or play a game on Steam, Valve collects that information under its own privacy policy and shares some of it with developers, usually in aggregate or statistical form. That can include things like the number of units sold, wishlist and refund counts, review activity, and country-level or regional breakdowns.
This is the only data about my games that reaches me, and I receive it from Steam. I do not collect it myself, and it is governed by Valve's handling of your data. See the Steam Privacy Policy for what Valve collects and how.
Some of my games use standard Steam features such as achievements, Steam Cloud saves, and Family Sharing. Where a game uses these, the associated data (for example, which achievements you have unlocked, or a cloud-synced save file) is stored and handled by Steam under Valve's privacy policy, not by me.
Your saves, settings, and in-game collections are kept locally on your computer (and, if a game uses Steam Cloud, synced through Steam so you can pick up on another machine). These files stay under your control. Uninstalling a game or deleting its local files removes them.
Patchy is a desktop companion that runs on your own machine. Everything it does, the fishing, gardening, collecting, and so on, happens locally, and none of it is reported back to me.
Patchy has one optional feature worth calling out: if you choose to turn it on, you can enter your location so Patchy reacts to your local weather. When enabled, the app uses that location to look up current conditions from a third-party weather service. This is off unless you set it up, the location you enter is used only to fetch the weather, and it is not sent to me. If you never enable it, no location is used at all.
My games do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts to create and no personal details are requested inside the games. Purchases and any Steam account are managed by Steam, whose own age and privacy terms apply.
I do not sell, rent, or share personal data, because I do not have any to share. The third parties involved in delivering my games are Valve (Steam), which distributes them and provides the sales information described above, and, only for Patchy's optional weather feature, a third-party weather provider used to fetch current conditions. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
If I add a feature that changes how data is handled, I will update this page and change the "last updated" date above. Since my approach is to not collect data in the first place, I expect changes to be rare.
Questions about this policy or about privacy in any of my games are welcome. Reach me at hello@forgedbyox.com or in the Discord.
